Beamish Museum, in County Durham, is set among 300 acres, and is the largest outdoor museum in Europe and contains many original buildings dating from the early 1800's to the early 1900's, which have been removed brick-by-brick from their original locations and accurately rebuilt on this unique site.

Built on the site of the Timothy Hackworth Museum in Shildon, County Durham, Locomotion is the first national museum in the North East of England and houses the reserve collection of the National Railway Museum in York.

A large and interesting bird park, complete with its own monorail transport around the park and situated just a few miles to the west of the city of Singapore. Well worth a visit.

The three days we spent in Sydney were less than sufficient for us to fully appreciate the numerous attractions of this delightful Australian city. I would recommend at least 5 days to do it justice!

These photographs were taken in 2004 - 2005 during a long holiday in South East Australia and Singapore through the Southern hemisphere's summer (that's why we went!).
